چکیده

in order to evaluate phenological and morphological responses of cold tolerant chickpea genotypes to entezary culture in mashhad conditions, 81 cold tolerant chickpea accessions were cultured during growing year 2006-2007 in research farm of faculty of agriculture, ferdowsi university of mashhad. the experiment was carried out in lattice design with three replications including 9 blocks per replication and 9 plots per block. results showed that there were significant differences among genotypes in terms of developmental traits including: sowing to emerging, emerging to flowering, flowering to podding and podding to maturity; and morphological traits including: plant height, number of branches per plant and sum of branches length per plant. survival percentage (ratio of remaining plants at harvest date to the number of sowed seeds) in the 73% of samples was more than 75%. furthermore, seed yield for 32% of tested genotypes was more than 40 g/m2. vegetative growth duration, reproductive growth duration and plant height were the most important characteristics in seed yield determination. based on these results and regarding to the remarkable yield of some studied accessions, it appears that some of the chickpea genotypes in collection of mashhad with suitable agronomical characteristics, have appropriate potential for entezary culture.

agronomic assessment of cold tolerant chickpea (cicer arietinum l.) genotypes in fall sowing at mashhad conditions

introduction studies on the fall-winter sowing of chickpea were commenced in 1974-75 at mediterranean regions. for example, singh et al, (1997) studied some chickpea cold and ascochyta blight tolerant genotypes in fall-winter sowing for 10 years (1983-1993) on three regions in syria and lebanon under rain-fed conditions. the mean of seed yield for 10 years in the fall-winter sowing was 1686 kg....

evaluation of cold tolerance in winter sowing of chickpea (cicer arietinum l.) using morphological and phenological traits in kurdistan region

winter sown chickpeas produce more yields in comparison with spring type. this function is hampered by the sensitivity of the crop to low temperature. in order to study and identify high yielding and cold tolerant chickpea (cicer arietinum l.) lines, 65 entries along with one susceptible check variety namely ilc533 were evaluated in a randomized complete block design (rcbd) with two replication...

GENETIC DIVERGENCE IN CHICKPEA (Cicer arietinum L.)

Genetic diversity of 27 chickpea genotypes was studied through Mahalanobis D and Principal Component analysis. The genotypes under study fall into five clusters. The cluster II contained the highest number of genotypes (11) and Cluster I contained the lowest. Cluster I produced the highest mean value for number of pods per plant. The inter cluster distances were much higher than the intra clust...

Nutritional Composition of Iranian Desi and Kabuli Chickpea (Cicer Arietinum L.) Cultivars in Autumn Sowing

The grain quality of chickpea in Iran is low and instable, which may be attributed to the evolution of cultivars with a narrow genetic base making them vulnerable to biotic stresses. Four chickpea varieties from diverse geographic origins were chosen and arranged in a randomized complete block design. Mesorhizobium sp. cicer strain SW7 was added to all the chickpea seeds. Chickpea seeds were pl...
